With a passion for people and technology, Olaf Eichstädt innovates and improves products, workflows, and business processes in technical environments.

Olaf Eichstädt currently serves as Head of R&D for alupak AG in Belp, Switzerland. He focusses on new and sustainable packaging solutions, the simulation of metal forming with thin foils and processes automation including IIoT.

Dr. Olaf Eichstaedt acted as Chief Engineer and Engineering Professor at Chinese Academy of Science (CAS). He worked with biologists, process engineers and automation experts at the Synbio Core Facility at the intersection of process development, laboratory automation and robotics, software development, and operations management. The city of Shenzhen invests 130Mio USD in the laboratory facility which will become part of Guangming Science City in 2024.

Olaf Eichstädt established Linova Consulting GmbH an Engineering and Lean Management consulting serving clients in China and Europe in product development and process improvement. He also is co-founder and board-member of WatchAdvisor AG which develops innovative data driven retailtech solutions for watch retailers and watch brands where he contributes his experience in data processing and analysis.

Before his time in Asia he was Associate Director Innovation and Technology at IWC and a R&D Director Grinding and Dispersion at Bühler AG responsible for budgets in excess of 4Mio CHF/a. Over the course of his career in China, Hongkong, Europa, Australia and USA led to over 30 patent applications and several publications.

Olaf holds a Dr. sc. techn. degree from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) in Zurich and an Executive MBA in Technology Management from University of St. Gallen (Switzerland). He worked at the University of New South Wales (Sydney, Australia) for his masters degree at RWTH Aachen University (Germany) and received a bachelor of engineering degree of Thayer School of Engineering (Dartmouth College, U.S.A.).

Olaf speaks German, English, French and Chinese and lives in Switzerland.
